OF ALL PROGRAMS
Partnership and networking relations
have been built with a number of government departments,
international AID Agencies, such as the
UNDP,
UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, SKILLSHARE, WUSC, POLICY PROJECT
and other NGOs and private sector representatives.

UNICEF/MoE
has been a partner with BONEPWA+. A
project “Improve schools to be child friendly community education outreach
centre for HIV/AIDS information and services", 27-field education officers
are trained and deployed.
Ringing the bell
–
tripartite project between BONEPWA+, MoE and UNICEF
(Funded by UNICEF) Pilot phase which covered 37 schools
and involved 27 FEs of the project evaluated and report
disseminated. Recommendations adopted for inclusion in
the scale up phase that will see 100 schools covered and
60 FEs deployed.
World University Service of
Canada (WUSC)
supported a series of sensitization
seminars as a follow up to the advocacy and mobilization
last year. WUSC has also contributed to a BONEPWA+ feasibility
study on income generating activities (IGA). Based on
the study, in the year 2003 capacity building of PLWAs
for income generation activities was planned and implemented.
With the technical support of VSO/WUSC a web page has
been developed and BOTSNET has also graciously provided
the network with web hosting services to allow BONEPWA+
to be “on-line”.
BONEPWA+ is expecting a Development Worker from WUSC
for income generation Of Support group/PLWHAs.
HIVOS
HIVOS International supported for the period of September
2001-December 2002 BONEPWA+ for administrative support,
purchase of equipments and a reflection workshop. As
BONEPWA+ has ended up with the project with HIVOS, there
is strictly need of administrative support to run the
National Network.
ACHAP

With the
financial support of ACHAP, BONEPWA+
is implementing activities mainly in two major areas;
PLWAs in support groups throughout Botswana are educated
on prevention, basics on treatment and care, nutrition,
counselling and build-up institutional capacity building
of BONEPWA+ establishing and strengthening of more PLWAs
Support groups in the communities. The project is on
going.
BOTUSA/Pathfinder
international
This
project addresses prevention, care and support and
treatment aspects of the BONEPWA core programme
areas. The first phase saw the training of 21 ARV/PMTCT
adherence counsellors and seven sites reached, in the
second phase; we saw the recruitment of a project
officer as the focal person for the project as well as
the expansion of the project: 28 additional ARV/PMTCT
adherence counsellors and 8 sites covered. Receptive
collaboration and support received from the district
partners on the project (DHTs and support groups)
THE
ADVOCACY PROJECT – MR.POSITIVE LIVING
– funded by Sida through the Swedish Embassy (1 year
pilot then 4yrs) is under process.
THE OVC
PROJECT
– funded by Skillshare International (duration yet to be
deretermined).
